1. I've experience with so many new tools. How fun! I think I will try to implement the use of image generators and digital storytelling. During math, students may be able to gather images that represent certain shapes. Where as in Social studies, reading, and science, students may use image generators to find pictures that help them remember the importance of a topic. Digital storytelling will work wonders in the classroom. Students will be able to create a story, summarize a lesson, or extend a lesson through storytelling.
2. All of these tools have transformed my thinking. As I worked on all the tools, I kept brainstorming ways in which I could implement them in my lessons. Students learning should be fun and this definitely allows them to have fun while learning.
3. This program has allowed me to learn at my own pace. It allowed for more 'play time' with the tools. Now I can implement my new knowledge into students' learning.

Tool #11
In YOUR blog post, discuss at least three things you would want to make sure your students understand about being good digital citizens. Explain briefly how you would "teach" the idea of digital citizenship to your students.
Some of the 3 most important things to help students understand digital interaction are: etiquette, role (using the info for learning), and safety. How would I teach this idea?...hmm... ?I think it is more of a process, it would be difficult to teach it. However, I would start off by role playing. I would blindfold a student and have them walk around the room to find the stuffed animal I have placed somewhere. This would incorporate all three ideas. How? Because when we are online we don't know what we are going to run into, we don't know what we might hear, and we don't know what's going to pop up onto the screen. We have to carefully search around for the information needed.

I toyed around with a few apps but for some reasone my laptop kept freezing even though I restarted the computer a couple of times. I got to experience a little with apps, I see the advantage to extend a lesson. Some students may be able to use an iTouch without distracting other students that are working--talk about differentiated instruction. My students experienced the iTouches and they enjoyed them. It is a great way to go from one app to another with the swipe of a fingertip.

Wow-the power of screencasting. This would be a great way to introduce a lesson and to share it with others. Better yet, it would be a great way for students to work in groups and produce a screencast or participate in avideo conference about the lesson learned.

I'm sharing a couple of vids that I found. These vids may be very useful for K-2nd grade. The first link is for odd and even numbers. The second link is for the life cycle of a monarch butterfly. Being about to search for educational videos whenever and where ever is very powerful for classroom use.

Here's my photo story, enjoy. I can see photostory being integrated into a lesson. Students could take pictures of how to solve a math problem. Then they could take those pictures and create a photostory.

What a great way to keep a story writing project alive! This would also help with our team meetings. Our agendas/plans/roadmaps could be edited without having to fill up our inbox with varied e-mails.
